THE SECRETS OF THE BUILDING

Here you are in an authentic 19th century wine-growing building erected on the Cordais plateau; magnificent white stone architecture typical of the causse overlooking the Albigensian basin.

Built in 1881 for the needs of its master winegrower, it hosted for many long and beautiful years the production of the wines of the country whose reputation we know today. The cellar, its lightning like an enormous barrel and its vats still bear witness to this today. The estate's dump truck, a large cart used to transport the grapes, also attests to its origins thanks in particular to its identification plate. But what does it tell us? And although the county  charron was the designer. Interesting !

The years go by, the plots of vines fade and the stays of the master become episodic. The cellar then quickly offers a natural setting for the little secrets of many generations.

But now 2016 shows its nose. The excessive tranquility of the place is gently enlivened by the fervor of two great madmen from elsewhere. In love with the place, they then gave a big boost to everything that was their future. A meticulous and rigorous complete renovation is undertaken, without batting an eyelid and with enchantment.

Surrounded by vineyards and cereal fields, the property is located on the outskirts of the superb formerly fortified village of VIRAC dating from the 12th century. Admire its remarkable 15th century church flanked by gargoyles and battlements.
